Men’s Health Australia has developed its own custom-made fragrance, MH For Men. It is said that this is an Australian publishing first, and a men' s magazines world-first.
MH For Men was developed by leading Australian perfumer John Lambeth, whose brief was to create a signature Men’s Health scent that “conveys a sense of freshness, energy and potency while also being alluring to the opposite sex... a fragrance that will upgrade your personal space with a single squirt.”
Men's Health editor Bruce Ritchie explained: “MH For Men fragrance provides a first-of-its-kind way for Men’s Health to extend our brand beyond the pages of our magazine and into the everyday lives of our readers."
Readers will experience the fragrance in the magazine‟s December issue which is on sale today, with an eight-page feature designed to help men better navigate the department store fragrance aisle and choose the right scent for them.
Ritchie added: “With the festive season approaching, we wanted to find a way to cut through the waffle and provide guys with a solid understanding of how choosing the right fragrance can play a key role in improving their mood, defining their style and even making them more attractive to women.”
MH For Men features bright notes of lavender and citrus, boosting beta waves in the brain and making you more alert. The fragrance mellows into woodiness with middle notes of cedar, patchouli and sandalwood, and woody base notes of musk, amber and oak moss. Compositionally, the fragrance is a complex combination of 51 ingredients.
Erica Moore, fragrance evaluator for international scent classification organisation, Fragrances of the World, described MH for Men as “a herbaceous/woody fragrance that has a nostalgic, almost vintage, masculine quality that‟s really appealing... It‟s fresh and light, with a „just got out of the shower connotation that is fail-safe... I think women will definitely like it.”
A scent strip imbued with the fragrance will run alongside the "Making Scents" feature, allowing readers to experience MH For Men. The scent will not be made available for commercial purchase.
